Title: Development of a Professionalism Scorecard
Authors: Carrie L. Wieneke
Year: 2015
Abstract: The Clinical Competency Committee met in June 2014 to evaluate 15 residents and assigned each to a Professionalism milestone level based on subjective standards. Afterward, retrospective data were used to complete the scorecard and assign an objective level. When comparing subjective levels assigned by the committee to objective levels calculated from the scorecard, objective levels were generally lower. However, this difference was primarily driven by one task: completion of required reading and quizzes. To further evaluate the role and utility of the scorecard, data will be collected prospectively for the next 6 months, and scores will again be compared.
